The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in the Carnegie Mansion on Fifth Avenue is the only museum in the United States dedicated exclusively to historic and contemporary design. Its collection of nearly 217,000 objects spans 3,000 years of design history, from ancient jewelry to contemporary digital interfaces.
