About

The Des Moines Art Center is one of the most architecturally distinguished art museums in the United States, with three connected wings designed by Eliel Saarinen (1948), I.M. Pei (1968), and Richard Meier (1985). Its collection of approximately 6,000 works focuses on modern and contemporary art, with particular strengths in American and European painting and sculpture from 1900 to the present.
