The Wichita Art Museum is the largest art museum in Kansas, with a collection of approximately 9,000 works focused on American art from the 18th century to the present. Its holdings include a significant collection of works by Charles Russell and other artists of the American West, as well as American modernism, prints, and decorative arts. The museum's expanded building, designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes, is set on the banks of the Little Arkansas River.
