The Speed Art Museum in Louisville is Kentucky's oldest and largest art museum, with a collection of over 13,000 works spanning 6,000 years of art history. Reopened in 2016 after a four-year expansion, the museum's building by wHY Architecture integrates a striking contemporary addition with the original 1927 Neoclassical structure. Its collections range from ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman artifacts to European Old Masters and contemporary American art.
