The Cincinnati Art Museum is one of the oldest art museums in the United States, founded in 1881, and one of the largest in the Midwest, with a collection of more than 67,000 works spanning 6,000 years. The museum offers free general admission and is particularly celebrated for its collection of ancient Near Eastern, Egyptian, and Greco-Roman art; its European paintings; and a significant collection of works by Cincinnati artists.
