About

The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio is the first modern art museum in Texas, founded by artist and collector Marion Koogler McNay, who bequeathed her Spanish Colonial Revival mansion and art collection to the city. Its collection of approximately 22,000 works focuses on European and American modernism, with particular strengths in French Post-Impressionism, theater arts, and works on paper.
