About

The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) is the Pacific Northwest's premier art museum, with a collection of approximately 25,000 works spanning global art history. Its collection is particularly strong in Northwest Coast Native American art — one of the finest such collections in the country — as well as African art, modern and contemporary art, and European Old Masters. Jonathan Borofsky's Hammering Man sculpture greets visitors outside the downtown entrance.
