The National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta connects the American civil rights movement to the ongoing global struggle for human rights. Opened in 2014, its immersive galleries explore the history of the U.S. civil rights movement under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the global human rights movement, and the work of activists today. The museum holds the personal papers and collection of Dr. King.
