About
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. is America's national institution for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history, and serves as the country's memorial to the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust. Since opening in 1993, the museum has welcomed nearly 45 million visitors. Its permanent exhibition takes visitors on a chronological journey through the rise of Nazism, the ghettoization of Jewish communities, and the systematic murder of six million Jews.
