About
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles opened in 2021 as the world's premier institution devoted to the art and science of filmmaking. Designed by Renzo Piano, the museum's campus includes a restored 1939 Streamline Moderne building connected to a stunning new glass sphere. Its collection of 13 million objects — including original costumes, props, cameras, and scripts — chronicles the history of cinema from its earliest days to the present.
